we the undead.
Hillary Clinton’s campaign is akin to an undead flesheater of B-movie lore. Virtually unkillable, consistently grim and frighteningly persistent, it will stop at nothing to feast upon the warm, living flesh of Barack Obama. Faced with withering blunt force attacks, Mr. Obama failed yesterday to deal the fatal headshot he was hoping would finally carry him to the nomination. And thus Ms. Clinton lumbers on, momentarily strengthened by the shreds of “momentum” and “hope” that she has torn from the soul of her opponent’s campaign.
In all seriousness, the longer this race continues, the weaker it renders the Democrats’ chances of mounting a formidable resistance to John “Foreign Policy” McCain. Mr. McCain is a serious general election contender; besides being the least insane of this year’s Republican candidates, he also possesses a strange, otherworldly aura that attracts moderates and independents against their better judgment.
Hillary’s chances of overcoming Barack’s mathematical edge are still unlikely at best, and either seating the Michigan and Florida delegates or snatching the nomination with the help of superdelegate defections would do no less than destroy the credibility of the Democratic party.
Her “hope” in chasing the Democratic nomination is fast becoming poison.
