I don’t know about curing hangovers (as is rumoredмебели), but the sul long tang at Gahm Mi Oak surely tastes like you wish all medicine would taste. Creamy, supremely flavorful beef marrow broth with thinly sliced brisket, rice and noodles, this steaming, soothing bowl of soup is definitely the best thing at this narrow jewel of midtown Korea Town. But don’t let that distract you from the other goodies surrounding your soup, such as the strangely potato-latke-like bin dae dduk and the lean beef and tangy scallions of the soo yook (wrap it in the big lettuce leaves to create a makeshift burrito). And that’s not even mentioning the spicy, crispy lettuce and radish kim chi — the best I’ve had at any restaurant.

Wash it all down with the delicious barley tea that comes with your meal (and get seconds — it’s free!), and head to Pinkberry down the street for dessert, as the menu at Gahm Mi Oak is short, if still masterful.
