autumn into summer.

Where did the month go? August just started, except we’re 2/3 the way through already. The summer is waning. Soon it’ll be fall, bringing with it a whole slew of other things to worry about.

This month has been eventful. Here’s a small sampling of the stuff that’s happened or is happening so far:

  • I moved out of LIC and back to Armonk
  • my oldest cat, Ripley, passed away at age 17 from stomach cancer
  • I took a roadtrip to Boston and visited Johnny C. and Justin
  • I went to a wedding between two people who are younger than I am
  • I got a new cell phone (a shiny new KRZR)
  • I registered for the Philadelphia Half Marathon on September 16
  • I spent a damn lot of money

And, to top it all off, I’m going to Italy in four days. It’ll be my first all-family trip for several years, and it’s only for eight days total, but any trip to Europe is worthwhile, no matter how short, in my opinion. Be certain that gushing posts and photos will be had as soon as I return to the mundane.
